        It is often easier to do these (as a beginner anyway) if you
convert to a "concrete" problem with proportions of a finite set.



        There are a hundred students. 18 of them [0.18 x 100] 
have an Athletic scholarship ...(etc)

(a') What proportion have an athletic scholarship, among those with a
merit scholoarship?...(etc)
