In Spanish "esperar" is also related to the word for "wait" which

You might try the following with a native Spanish speaker (which I am not)
to see if s/he understands where you are coming from. I.e.,
Aguardando -- pero m�s en el sentido de "esperando," que en el de
"contando con."
Aguardar = to await; esperar = to hope; contar con = to count on/expect.
Hence the aforegoing sentence could be translated from the Spanish as
Awaiting -- but more in the sense of "hoping for" than in that of "expecting."
