Hi!
I have data on citizens movements from Census:
I have a dataset in which each row shows these data:
"origin census section"
"destination census section"
"range of departure time"
"range of duration of travel"
"means of transport (by car/by bycicle/public bus etc..)"
I would like to retrieve data from this dataset only in one specific
hour range: from 7.30am to 8.30am.
The problem is that I don't know the specific time of departure and
the specific duration of travel. Infact the ranges avaible for
departures are:
before_6.15am, 6.15am-6.45am, 6.45am-7.14am, 7.15am-7.44am,
7.45am-8.14am, 8.15am-8.44am, 8.45am-9.14am, after-9.15am.
And the duration in minutes are in ranges:
to-15, from-16-to-30, from-30-to-60, more-60.
I make a example:
The first row of my dataset say to me that there was a travel from
census section 025 to section 122 and that it started in the range
6.45am-7.14am and that the duration is in the range
from-16-to-30(minutes).
How can I say that this travel touched my specific hour range
(7.30-8.30). Infact if this travel started at 7.00am (possible) and it
finished at 7.20 (duration=20min, 16'<20'<30'), it didn't touch the
7.30-8.30 period. But, if
this travel started at 7.10am and it finished at 7.35am
(duration=25min), it touched the 7.30-8.30 period.
Can anyone suggest me a way to determine what data to choose so that I
am able to work with movements between 7.30am and 8.30am?
Thank you very much!
