there is some nice screen capture software located at:
http://www.techsmith.com
snagit ... camtasia ...
you can download for free for 30 days and try
that makes it easy to capture some screen output (from software) like
minitab ... and add audio ... these make avi files ... yes, rather large
but, seems like a really nice way to make some demos for class and other
purposes ... if people are connected to a network ... no problem
you as the creator can then store at a web location for download ... or
burn to a cd that students and others can use, etc.
here is ONE quick example ... done for my class today ... it could be
polished up of course so, just take it as a quick demo to show the
potential of this
go to
http://roberts.ed.psu.edu/users/droberts/introstat/
scroll down to powgraphs.avi ... and click
WARNING: IT IS ABOUT 5 MEGS!
if you have something like windows media player ... it should open
automatically after it has fully downloaded
WHEN IT STARTS ... CHANGE THE view TO full screen ... and, make sure your
audio is on
this is output as one example from a macro i have for minitab ... that will
draw overlapping distributions for a simple power problem ... and
calculates power and beta
more info on this macro can be found at:
