This is a formal announcement of a new L-MINITAB-BASICS listserv that I have started.
The focus of this list is on the application of the software package ... Minitab ... to work that would typically be found in an Introductory Statistics course ... on most College and University campuses ... and in some high schools.

The purpose of the list is to provide help and assistance to students and faculty who are teaching and/or taking introductory level statistics classes ... and how Minitab can be used within those courses and contexts.

The focus is NOT on applications of Minitab to advanced methods such as complex ANOVA designs, higher level regression routines, factor analysis, quality control applications, and similar things. Posts about such topics are discouraged.

Please pass along to students and others whom you think might be interested in such a list. I am hoping that we can get a decent pool of subscribers soon and begin posting tips and suggestions about use of Minitab.

There are two basic ways to subscribe to this list.

METHOD 1

There is a web interface ... where you can sign up for the list ... please follow the link below. This will also be an access point for ARCHIVES later.

http://lists.psu.edu/archives/l-minitab-basics.html

METHOD 2

One can use the typical method of sending an email message for subscription purposes ...

New subscribers can join by sending mail to (click on and follow):

<mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

No subject or message text is required. The system picks up the name and address from the e-mail headers.

If anyone has any questions about the mechanics of this list or the purpose of this list, please send me a note. Again, thanks for considering this list ... and letting others know about it whom you think might be interested.
