Much Thanks! I checked with my instructor and she said it was okay to use minitab. I am downloading the trial version now. Should I have trouble with the application, I'll check in again. Perhaps I can learn to use minitab and share its power with other business professionals and MBA students. Thanks again for steering me in the right direction...

since this is a minitab list ... i would suggest we not spend time detailing how to use excel to do things ...

the comments of don however, are right on the mark

Colleagues:
The original query (copied below) was mis-sent to the L-MINITAB list.
The querent evidently needs help with Excel, which I cannot supply.
I know that there is an Excel listserve, but not how to access it.
Perhaps one of you would be kind enough to assist the querent?

MINITAB is a complete statistical package, unlike Excel, which is really
a spreadsheet package for which, as you note, statistical add-ins can be
purchased. Most statisticians I know of are dissatisfied with a number
of Excel's stastistical routines, for good reason; but many MBA
programs, enamored of Excel for its spreadsheet virtues, are unwilling
to require proper statistical analyses, one gathers. MINITAB is
available as a trial download for 60 or 90 days, I think: details would
be somewhere at www.minitab.com .
