William Chambers, who posted to these newsgroups now and then about his
ideas, that he often called Corresponding Regressions, died last week.

He had been suffering from renal failure for a year or more and had
finally made it on the transplant list. He was discovered at home last
week in arrest and he did not recover.

A member of his family went through his old email and found that I had
exchanged email with him in the past. They asked if I would post a
brief message to let people know.

I realized that his position was often at odds with other people's.
But I was always polite and never stopped poking at him with questions.
He was patient with me and would try to explain what he was claiming.
Between the two of us he managed to clarify his position and increase
our understanding, at least a little bit.
