Yes, I can see that.  OTOH, I find many of the postings interesting, and
am tempted to respond;  if several colleagues have already responded
(and copied their replies to the list), often I needn't reply, because
they've already said (and sometimes better!) what I was going to say.
That saves me time.  (And raises the possibility of arguing a point,
possibly an abstruse one, with colleagues:  which I take to be one of
the purposes -- it's certainly one of the advantages -- of the list.)
