A previous respondent adds: 
        Of course, in the real world a really good researcher studying this
question would consider possible "burstiness" of the requests - do they
arrive in clusters (due to relay methods or one user making multiple
requests) or uniformly spaced (due to other hypothetical features ofthe
relay methods)?  

        In a homework question the Poisson model can be glorked from the
context.
