In 1927 R. A. Fisher helped set up a 'designed experiment' in
reforestation in Wales. The design was a Latin Square with five cells
on a side, in a Graeco-Latin or hyper Graeco-Latin square form, and it
was done in Beddgelert Forest near Beddgelert, Wales, UK. The study
was concluded some 40 years later. Today one row of squares has been
bulldozed away, although one can still see the squares from a nearby
hillside.

There is a brief discussion of the experiment in the biography by Joan
Fisher Box, _R. A. Fisher, The Life of a Scientist_, 1978 , J. Wiley &
Sons, NY.

Can someone provide a reference to the journal publication on this
study, assuming it was published?

With appreciation,
Jay
