Hi,

a simple question about mutual information:

mutual information is   defined as I(X;Y) = H(X) - H(X|Y)
If X and Y aren't simple discrete random variables, but are defined on
set of random discrete variables (X,Y in {X1,X2, ....,Xn}, with Xi and
Yi discrete random variables), how can i calculate I(X;Y)?

Here is an example:

X1 X2 X3 X4 X5
1  5  2  3  9
4  3  4  7  0
3  1  4  2  5
....
.
.
.

X ={X1, X2}, Y={X3,X4}
I(X;Y)=?

Thanks.
