To finish a scientific work I need some help on statistics to solve the
following problems:
1. I am using a dataset, which consists of 6000 molecules (randomized).
Can I conclude anything for a bigger dataset of 106 molecules.
Is my small dataset representativ for the biggerone. Which test do I
have to use to proof this representativity
2. With this dataset I did a couple of experiments, out of which I got
16 independent measurements. Which tests proofs that my measurements are
significantly different from any other or where lies the niveau of
significance, where my measurements are different?
3. In another experiment I got five measurements, which are in a
temporal order. To me there is an obvious trend of decrease. How can I
proof that this trend isn't just random?
I am a statistical newbie and grateful for any kind of help!
