In the usual mathematical sense [having a well-defined Taylor series that converges to the function], the normal PDF e^-(x^2) is analytic, and so, therefore, is its integral. Do you mean a rational approximation? One in terms of elementary functions? This will affect the answer! -Robert Dawson . . ================================================================= Instructions for joining and leaving this list, remarks about the problem of INAPPROPRIATE MESSAGES, and archives are available at: . http://jse.stat.ncsu.edu/ . =================================================================
