I'm still confused. What we get on our contract is
UNMSOL100-ST for $3852 non discountable.
My recollection of $2500 must be some years old (in fact I'm old enough to
remember when it was $1500).
What is the relationship between UNM and the much higher EDU prices (even at
50%).
Aside from that, what really is needed is a XXX-100-ST part that gives you
support for any mix of SOL10 and OpenSol on 100 machines. Right now we are
mostly Sol10, but as time goes on I can see gradually changing the mix. Having
to buy twice as many support licenses is too expensive. I think Sun should be
encouraging us to experiment with OpenSolaris, but the support cost is
discouraging that.
