Opensolaris is just code an a community around it. if youre used to ubuntu you should try nexenta which is an opensolaris kernel with ubuntu look and feel. <personal opinion> opensolaris based distros are somewhat limited for the desktop experience because of lack of drivers for very common intel hardware. fortunately that is beginning to change with new wireless support on the way (intel 3945abg is still not supported for example and i dont know if it works through ndis) and DRI for some on-board video cards but it might take a few more months till we see them delivered in an actual distribution. other than that opensolaris distributions are quite good for the desktop </personal opinion> nacho
