My idea is to have a place for Chinese users, mainly for education (and
then marketing).
If we other communities are better suitable for specific topics posted
to this one, we can redirect them.
What's the next step?>

My thought is to establish a small-scale SUN-unrelated S/OS research
program at a university in a less expensive place in (interior,
preferably, for cost considerations) China. This project has to be
separated from SUN so as to hi-lite the independent (& potentially
entrepreneurial) nature of OpenSolaris.

Since this is a non-profit venture which will always be suspeciously
viewed as a front-end or even an alter ego of Sun, funding will be very
difficult to secure. Thus, please excuse me for my blunt language, I am
challenging our comrades in China: How much will it take for something
like this to get started?

Of course we can merrily stay with the good ol' NG/Forum based
campaigns, but these two efforts are not exclusive of each other.
