I'm getting same error with Ubuntu 12.04 . Versions of Scribus: scribus 1.4.0.dfsg+r17300-1ubuntu1 Open Source Desktop Page Layout - stable branch
Happens EVERY time. I start Scribus. I go to open a file(either through the open dialog on startup, or through "Open File" under file). It gives me a file manager window. Whatever I click on, gives me the crash. When I try to start from command line, same crash, but I get this: $ scribus Got bus address: "unix:abstract=/tmp/dbus-bodn16DEby,guid=1c245be05f63b9d438d2c19400000032" Connected to accessibility bus at: "unix:abstract=/tmp/dbus-bodn16DEby,guid=1c245be05f63b9d438d2c19400000032" Registered DEC: true Interface is not valid ASSERT failure in : "Got an update for an invalid inteface. Investigate this.", file atspiadaptor.cpp, line 899 Scribus Crash ------------- Scribus crashes due to Signal #6 Calling Emergency Save $ Using a hint from s-krasin, and running: $ sudo scribus Everything runs fine. Instead of the gnome file mamanger, it opens up the kde file manager. Running this as a super user is NOT a valid workaround.
