Thank you for reporting this bug to Ubuntu. Jaunty reached EOL a long time ago.

I've tried recreating this bug with precise and was unable to, given the
information you've provided.
Moreover from jaunty there was various release of scribus.
I image this bug isn't happening any more, anyway I set it to
incomplete, in 60 days this will automatically close.
Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.
