Ok so : I'm not using this software anymore (and not any mindmapping since a long time) i have installed the latest version availlable in my distrib 'Version 2.2.0 - 2012-06-14' and tryied to reproduce the bug.
Good news for you in the xml file the doctype has changed to "<!DOCTYPE vymmap>" and this is good and didn't make the software crash.
