I'm taking a thin client server to the Schoolforge-UK FLOSSIE conference in Bolton, UK on Thursday & Friday. Thanks to Petter's encouragement and Colin Applegate's howto on the Edubuntu wiki, it's successfully loaded with Ubuntu and LTSP, and it works with a nice little thin client unit to show it off.
The aim is to have the Edubuntu name and logo on a thin client screen in the exhibition area, along with some text from the wiki front page. I'll have a few printed copies for people to take away as well. A few small visual defects on the thin client display could do with improvement: 1. Window colours on the thin client display are slightly different from standard Ubuntu colours. Most noticeably, the window top bar is coloured blue. 2. Fonts are also slightly different. I'm not a font expert but they look more like Nimbus fonts instead of the standard Ubuntu fonts (which are??). 3. A couple of panel images are missing: the "hide all windows" and "wastebasket" icons on the bottom panel. Does anyone know how to remedy these?
