Subject: Can I help?
Date: Fri, 05 Aug 2005 18:10:57 -0800

Hello- I know there is a team of professionals working on Edubuntu,
but I would like to become involved somehow. I am currently enrolled in
a master of arts teaching program here in Juneau, Alaska and will be
working as an apprentice teacher in a middle school this winter. If all
goes as planned I'll become a certified teacher in the spring.

While I'm not a linux guru, I do have some experience with Ubuntu and
Debian, as well as Red Hat and others. I also have some background in PC
support, networking, programming, and web design. One of my goals as a teacher
is to turn as many tired old pc's as I can get my hand on into perfect working
Ubuntu
machines. Needless to say I was very excited to learn about the Edubuntu
project.

I am a firm believer the benefits of open source software, and plan on
spreading the word in the education community. In my mind linux (especially
Ubuntu) can take the best of the Mac and PC worlds and combine them affordably.
Any advice on how to contribute or get involved?

Thanks for your time,
Dave Mckenna
