Hi. My name is Joe Rowe
I teach a basic computer course to 7th graders in a public school in
Portland, Oregon, USA.
It is thrilling to be here. I'm new to ubuntu which we use in the green
party office in Portland. At home I use a debian distrubition from
http://www.freegeek.org where I volunteer. We properly recycle dead parts
and give back to the public high spec computers with debian linux. Before
teaching I was the IT director at a school with 300 computers and 1200 humans.
I'm really glad http://www.moodle.org is part of the specification because
I use moodle. I even use my moodle site to help to explain moodle
http://roweclassroom.com
I hope to help testing some of the boring stuff like printing and things that
drive kids and teachers nuts. I speak Spanish and I hope I can help make
edubuntu work for immigrants and the illiterate. In other words the English
version would help language learners of any age.
Like David W. I'm excited about the many strenghts of Skolelinux/Debian-Edu
and Edubuntu.
Peace, Joe
