Maybe you have two systems with the same IP address (192.168.0.1). Maybe
you have a firewall or packet filter set up.
Thank you. Yes, that was it.
Now I unplugged the cable from eth0 (the outwards-pointing NIC). So
right now this network has only two computers:
Edubuntu server -> eth0 -> thin client
Now, when I boot the client, it does get past the "Loading 192..."
stage. And indeed, I get a few pages worth of boot up info. It's still
not booting completely, but I'll post the errors on another thread
because it's a different issue.
Thank you so much for your help. I probably would have spent days before
thinking of that.
