Sadly, usernames and passwords in Active Directory *is* a normal standard school environment here in the UK. What's more, the directory may well be located on an external server controlled outside the school by the Local Education Authority, which makes life even more complicated. I hope this /is/ in the next release, or at least a documented (and maybe scripted) means of achieving it.
