Hello

I ´ve been testing edubuntu-ltsp for some days in reality (classroom). It is
an adventure.

Seven clients were able to work at the same time, but if there was one more PC,
different problems appeared:

You could not log in on the eighth machine.
The mouse pointer stopped there.
Openoffice couldn`t be started.
.....

Then I watched the prozessor load on the server (1 GB RAM). And the scale was
about 100%

Now I will reduce the color depth to 15 (32000 colors) to reduce network
traffic.
I think the color scale will be sufficient for working.
Also I want to send the teacher screen from the server to the clients in
future. I tried this with full color (24 bit) with one
excellent server (AMD64) and one (1!) small client at home a few days before.
There was no chance to start openoffice during the vnc-session.

Perhaps can somebody adapt the ed(unbuntu) backgrounds (fullcolor) to a lower
color level?

greetings

Reiner Schmid
