Hello, my name is Marc. I am a First/Second grade teacher in a private school. I hope to use Edubuntu in my classroom. I’m sure, at first, I will have many questions. In the future, I would like to add something to this group. As far as belief, I am a Torah observant Messianic believer. A few questions:

  1. Does anyone know of any good Biblical software designed for serious study? (E-Sword, a windows program is good, but I don’t know how to adapt it to Ubuntu. Gnomesword is not too bad, but lacks serious language study modules. Also I would like to be able to load a translation produced by “The Institute for Scripture Research” called “The Scriptures.” )
  2. Can I add the Edubuntu features without overwriting my current Ubuntu installation?
  3. Also, I could not figure out how to make my 3COM U.S. Robotics USR5610B 56K V.92 Performance Pro Modem to work with Ubuntu. I finally gave up and bought an external modem. Much easier. However I now have a spare internal modem that I would like to use at school if possible. Clear newbee instructions would be helpful.

Thank you, Marc
