I am having a problem trying to add a selection to the applications/system
menu using Alacarte. I am trying to add gdebi. I find it listed in the
menu editor's (Alacarte) system tools listings. I click the check box, but
after closing Alacarte and looking in Applications/System Tools menu the
program is not listed/shown.
It had been suggest to me that I try entering "killall gnome-panel" from
the command line, but that didn't work. (Did notice that the screen
blinked). Afterwards I ran Alacarte repeated my previous steps with the
same results I had previously. (The program was
not listed on the System Tools menu.)
Also, running Alacarte again and noted that the check box that I had
previously checked was unchecked.
I new to Ubuntu and I sure I'm having some cockpit problems here. Can some
please help me out?
