Can you tell us what model your video card is? It sounds like the video
card autodetection failed for some reason. I'd usually expect this only
from a very new video card or something really obscure.
Make sure you're using the latest live version cd (ie edgy eft). If it is
a very new video card you might even try the new beta live cd:
