Hi All,

Its taken me two days to recover from updating my Nvidia driver with
supposedly a newer one that ended up crashing my system twice.

So here I am again. I have an Nvidia gForce FX 5500 (PCI) video card in
my computer. When I tried running the Live CD of Edubuntu 6.06 and 6.10
I get the following message:

"Failed to start X server (your graphical interface). It is likely
that it is not set up correctly."

I was told upgrading my drivers to a more current version would help but
all it did was crash my system. The card works well as is in an XP
environment.

So the crux of this post is: how do I fix this problem now that a driver
upgrade is out of the question?

BTW, what high end video cards are compatible with Edubuntu/Ubuntu?

Roy
