I'll just add my info and links here. I'm guilt of recreating the wheel often myself, but if what I've already done is helpful, all the better. I run the Open Source Pavilion for the NECC (15,000 attendees) and CUE (5,000 attendees) ed tech shows. We have a great relationship with both, and have a speakers series on FLOSS at each show that is part of the regular show agenda. I also frequently blog and speak on FLOSS in education, and (like many others) have set up a wiki and a mail list. I have an audio interview series on FLOSS in ed, and have interviewed Richard Stallman, Eric Raymond, and many others. I've also recently taken a part-time consulting job with CoSN.org as their project lead for the Open Technologies initiative.
