This spec will eliminate most actual thin clients. To get above 800Mhz you will have to toss out most all thin client options and just look at installing stripped down desktops. If you are looking to use LTSP is there a reason you need such fast machines? The DevonIT 6020p from www.devonit.com will meet all of your specifications, with the exception of CPU speed. These are only offered up to 800Mhz. If you want stuff faster than 1Ghz it sounds like you still aren't certain these will remain thin clients and are still toying with the idea of local installs or possibly Diskless Remote Booting. If you are looking for full installs you could look at my tutorial for configuring an LDAP server and exporting /home via NFS, and then creating fat clients that get user info from the LDAP server and automount /home on startup. This still give you full roaming users but the power of local workstations. I am sure this could be combined with Diskless Remote Booting to still have a centrally managed image and no local hard drives. www.1-cs.com/ubuntu_ldap_howto.txt Good luck. -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by the Cotter Technology Department, and is believed to be clean. -- edubuntu-users mailing list [email protected] Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/edubuntu-users
