I entered the below under the appropriate headings in /etc/sudoers using 'visudo' User_Alias STAFF = bob, dave, jill Cmnd_Alias HALT = /sbin/halt STAFF ALL = HALT Seems to work on my home edubuntu machine so I'll test it at work next week.
