(Sorry, I thought that I replied to the list, but I just realized that mailman is setup so that the list is cc'd only if you reply to all. Only krsnendu got this response) Last week we migrated our K12LTSP server to Edubuntu Feisty. All of our users are stored on a smbldap server. There were gnome issues with the migration, so we had to create a new user using the smbldap command from the Feisty LTSP server. We then had to copy this template users' settings over to all the other users. They could then boot the edubuntu desktop. On Thursday we followed the happy, friendly suggestion to upgrade to 7.10 that appeared in the software updater app. On Friday morning, after a night of downloading, the upgrade broke our functioning server. You can see some of my other posts covering these issues. Our upgrade from Feisty to Gutsy was a failure. If it was just the teacher doing it, this would be a debacle. I have been able to follow some advice and have done the following mv /opt/ltsp/i386 /opt/ltsp/i286-feist ltsp-build-client ltsp-update-image ltsp-update-kernels ltsp-update-sshkeys I have wondered if I should have done the update-image first followed by build-client. I'll be able to test this Monday morning. I'll update the list with our results. Since I posted the above yesterday, I can now report that the steps above did not work. I'll be on site tomorrow to dig around. If any of you have suggestions now, please let me know. I would like to be part of the solution and not just point out problems. > > Thanks. > Krsnendu dasa > --scott -- edubuntu-users mailing list [email protected] Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/edubuntu-users
