On my edubuntu 7.04 I created via webmin through a csv file hundreds users, divided in 3 groups.
After thar I realized that the users can't use cd-roms. floppy, audio. They were created with the socalled "default" profile, nont with the "desktp" profile. I found out that the file responsible for this is /etc/gnome-system/users/profiles.xml So I tried to change it according to my needs. The problem should be solved for the future: next time I'll use webmin to load new users they'll adhere to the modified default profile. But now I'm looking for a way to put things in order in the existing system, i.e. grant cd floppy and audio access to all the users. Obviously I'm looking for an "elegant" solution, I don't want to change permissions to all users one by one. BTW it would be nice if I could define which profile to use in webmin batch process, but I don't know how, yet. Any ideas for all this? tia Antonello -- edubuntu-users mailing list [email protected] Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/edubuntu-users
