It would be interesting to compile it, put it in /usr/local/lib/ and add
the export line
export LD_PRELOAD=/usr/local/lib/shim.so
into the LDM login command or perhaps /etc/profile. This should push this
hack to every thin client. It sounds like that should relieve people's
problems with thin clients running out of memory.
