Well, I was panicking a bit, but I used apt-get install gnome to get list of needed packages. Now I just need to find where the deskbar package is, LOL. Can't do much without it. Thanks, but I think I've figured out my solution.

Now I need to figure out which package was need for a sucessful boot into GNOME because apparently I've made a mistake and gone too far. I am in recovery mode and at the command line interface. Is there a way to access the logs so I can find the names of the packages I removed and re-install them? Or something easier? Michael White
