Hey All, (This is in reference to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bug/269188 )
I talked with fta this morning and he has a PPA with updated nspr packages, which supposedly fix the FF3 slowness/entropy issue that has been discussed in LTSP lists before, which also affects Edubuntu LTSP users. I haven't tested this exact procedure yet but this could be *the* fix for Firefox 3 in (Ubuntu) LTSP - anyone care to comment? I'll be testing it out at one school today hopefully. http://lns.wikidot.com/nsprupdate Please keep in mind that when performing this, you need to launch AS MANY INSTANCES AS POSSIBLE SIMULTANEOUSLY. It's easy for me to do, as I run mostly LTSP lab environments with many machines in the same area. So I just go down the line, after users are logged in, and clickity-click. My request is for people that are affected by this bug to test and report at the bug report listed at the bottom of the wiki page, so we can get an SRU for Hardy, so FF3 is more usable in LTSP environments.
