This package libnspr4-0d referenced on Jordan's page https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/hardy/+source/nspr/+bug/269188 fixed the issue for me (and our 300 users) :-) I'll add my message to Jordan's bug-report https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bug/269188 per the request on his web page.
