Gavin; Thanks for the advice. It appears that the server can get to the sources as I have run apt-get-update and ltsp-update-image this morning without any error. When switching to the chroot it seems unable to find the on-line sources. I cannot see any evidence of the chroot looking for a proxy. I am at home now but do drag the box into work from time to time. I then set a proxy and download/update as needed because the work connection is so much faster.
