I think it's not firefox on itself, but all the multimedia content, especially flash. It gets uncompressed on the server and then the bits have to be transferred over the network. So if a youtube stream is 30kb/s when it comes to your server, it gets expanded to maybe 300kb/s, which have to be tranferred to the thin client. This means with many users opening youtube or flash educational games at the same time, the network becomes the bottleneck. Please correct me if i am wrong.
