Audrey, it would be good to know what you plan to do with your laptop to give you some help.
if you plan to use it as a server which other computers can connect to, then you need more power and a faster disk would be an advantage. if you use the laptop stand-alone to try out edubuntu then you will only need a regular harddisk like you would find in any store. the size also depends on what you want to do. the edubuntu itself you won't need more than 10GB I think. 6 would maybe be sufficient also. but if you have many computers connecting or you want to store video or fotos on the laptop, then you will need a bigger one. but let me give you an example. I built a edubuntu (LTSP) server for our local school. it serves at may 16 children and computers at the same time. I bought a regular 500GB disk for a local school and it performs fine. hope this helps a bit. otherwise let us know a little bit more of your setup or intentions. rgds, uwe Am Donnerstag, den 01.10.2009, 21:04 +0000 schrieb [email protected]: > Does anyone know where I can find the hard disk requirements for the > newest version of Edubuntu and possibly some of the older versions > too?
