anyway, with a custom-compiled kernel (which is a Linux 3.5.7 compiled
from apt-getted sources with a config file based on the default kernel
except for one difference: no bigmem support and hence no dependency
on pae support) the result is the same except the aforementioned line
in syslog does not appear.
