I am currently trying to test an edubuntu setup in virtual box, with a view of setting up properly in a month or so.

However I can't get the clients to boot of the LTSP server, it keeps telling me that it doesn't get any DHCP offers. I have done a lot of googling and tried all kinds of things. One of the things I keep coming across is to run:

sudo service isc-dhcp-server restart

however when I do that it always gives me the following message in the logs:

Can't bind to dhcp address: Address already in use

When I check out port 67 and 68 they are being used by dnsmasq. Am I doing something wrong here or is there a problem with my installation?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have been trying a few more things and still no luck. A little more about my setup:

1. The server runs in a Virtual Box VM with two NICs, eth0 connected
via Virtual Box NAT to our LAN, eth1 connected to an internal
network called 'edubuntu' with promiscuous mode set to 'allow all'.
2. The client runs in a Virtual Box VM with one NIC connected to an
internal network called 'edubuntu' with promiscuous mode set to
   'allow all'.

The only thing I can think of is that the server's dhcp server does run on eth0, instead of eth1. Is there a way of checking that?
