FYI,
At the end of this student year 2011/2012, on Thursday 5 july 2012, the
prizes for the best students participants in the project "Macedonia on
Wikipedia" were awarded. Prizes were awarded by Deputy Minister of
Education and Science Mr. Safet Neziri [1] in the presence of the rector
of SEEU [2], Mr. Zamir Dika [3], the dean of FINKI [4], Mr. Dimitar
Trajanov [5], the dean of FSNT [6] Mr. Bekim Fetaji [7], prof. Katerina
Zdravkova [8] from FINKI, assistant Shpetim Latifi [9] from FSNT, other
professors [10] from both faculties, the representatives from the
Ministry of Education and Science, the representatives from Wikimedia
Macedonia [11] as well as students from both faculties.
The solemn ceremony was held at the Southeast European University campus
in Skopje, an event organized by the rector of SEEU - Mr. Zamir Dika.

Implementation of the project "Macedonian Wikipedia" will increase the
number of articles related to Macedonia on Wikipedia and the increasing
use of free content available on the Internet in the teaching process in
state and private educational institutions in Macedonia. Ministry of
Education and Science is the sponsor of the project "Macedonia on
Wikipedia".
Students were processed on average 3-4 quality articles related to their
study, that made hundreds of new and quality articles. It is interesting
to note that students from FSNT have been working on the Macedonian and
Albanian Wikipedia, which gives a special dimension to the project
because it allows students from other linguistic communities to
contribute to their native language.
The best students were promoted after evaluation of their mentors, and
committee of deans of both faculties and a representative of the Working
Group of the Ministry of Education and Science established for the
project "Macedonia on Wikipedia." The Deputy Minister gave the students
first, second and third prize.
The following students were awarded: Bisera Dugalicstudent at FINKI -
first prize, Ljiridon Selmani student at FSNT - second prize and Drini
Aliu student at FSNT - third prize. These awards will contribute towards
these students in earning a scholarship from the Ministry of Education
and Science. The process of awarding is an important component of the
project, which pays tribute to hardworking students for their work.
In future the project should be extended to other faculties of all
universities, secondary schools and later primary schools. Experiences
from the project of these two faculties in the future we will implement
to the other faculties.
