I did quite a bit of site organization early this summer at http://outreach.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_Education_Program , including the implementation of an infobox I’ve kept up-to-date as I learn of other Wikipedia Education Programs being run/launched by other communities. You might want to check it out and see how much of this is salvageable (the revised version has worked fine for me) before declaring it defunct and replacing it with the system you’re working on. Also, if you know of any programs not listed on that page, please make sure they link from the infobox on that page.
