Hi everyone,

Apologies if you have already seen a similar notification from the watchlist or
on a different mailing list elsewhere.

We are currently proposing to establish a new Wikimedia sister project called
WikiJournal. https://en.wikiversity.org/wiki/WikiJournal_User_Group

Our goal is to bridge the academic-Wikipedia by enabling academics, scholars
and professionals to contribute expert knowledge to the Wikimedia movement in
the familiar academic publishing format while providing scholars with citable
articles for performance evaluation.

Currently, WikiJournal is hosted under Wikiversity and is divided three
journals (WikiJournal of Medicine, WikiJournal of Science and WikiJournal of
Humanities). We are providing an avenue for academics to publish in open-access
peer-reviewed journal with no publication cost (i.e. open access
diamond/platinum). We accept articles in various formats: reviews (with many of
them integrated directly into Wikipedia), original research, case studies, and
images/galleries (with integration into Commons).

A full description of the sister project proposal can be found at:
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/WikiJournal. You are also encouraged to provide
feedback and comments about the proposal.
