We are looking for an Open edX programmer or architect with a minimum of 3 years’ experience working on the Open edX platform. Strong skills in Python programming is required. This is a consultant position and the candidate will be placed with our client (Microsoft) for a period of 6 – 8 months. The role requires the candidate to join our client’s core team of platform developers working on Open edX. Experience with Open edX development, implementation, integration, hosting and support is desired.
Remote working option is available for this role. Regular IM/Skype interactions with client is desired. *Key Responsibilities* · Be a part of the Open edX platform team effort with our client · Complete Open edX programming assignments as desired by the client · Build sandboxes from scratch, as needed · Create and research xblocks for the Open edX instance as needed · Research technical solutions and work with Open edX team to develop/provision the instances · Participate in meetings with Open edX team and contribute to the development of the platform · Create proposals for solutions based on your understanding of the platform strategy & direction · Support documentation efforts of various services that are added in the platform *Skills and Experience * *Must Have: * - Strong knowledge and skills of Python programming - Minimum of 2 – 3 experience working on Open edX platform - Keen developer mindset - Strong communication skills *Nice to Have: * - Django, MySQL, MongoDB skills - Experience building custom applications on top of Open edX *About the company:* Skill-Up Technologies is a Redmond-based skills enablement company headquartered in the Seattle metro area.
