as far as i recall LTI is not supported on mobile (http://edx.readthedocs.io/projects/open-edx-learner-guide/en/latest/SFD_mobile.html#what-types-of-problems-can-i-do-in-the-mobile-app)
as for the rest of your questions - both apps are native apps (iOS & Android). - edx.org reports that 94% of their courses are mobile-friendly, so they skipped "mobile friendly" flag and displays all courses in the app. the only thing is that for the unsuported content it displays a link to open it in the browser.
