I think you need to set up the course discovery 
service: https://github.com/edx/course-discovery and then follow these 
instructions for integrating with the LMS:
https://open-edx-course-catalog.readthedocs.io/en/latest/getting_started.html#lms-integration

However, the course discovery service is not officially released yet, and 
will only be made available on the next release of Open edX (Gingko), so 
just be aware that you're trying to use an unreleased and unsupported 
version of the software.
