This sounds like the MathJax CDN deprecation issue. Check the browser's
JavaScript console for MathJax/JS errors - if you see some, then that is
the reason. There is more information in the thread at

related links. Upgrading to Ficus.3+ is the best fix, but you can also work
around it as described therein.
